From 1999 to 2000, she taught while obtaining her Masters of Education at Trevecca Nazarene University. She left the classroom in 2000 when the couple welcomed their baby boy Baylor. Ashley has committed the last fifteen years in promoting the development of children within her church, as well as the community. Ashley is a long-time leader of the Preschool Ministry and the Student Ministry at Thompson Station Church. Ashley as well as her family homeschooled for 3 years. Ashley taught History in the homeschool in their time of home schooling. God said to her that even though she enjoyed homeschooling as well as being in the presence of children, her family had to go back to full time school. Brent and Ashley both have five children. Silas, Eliza, and Cruz all attend GCA. Baylor is an GCA graduate who plays baseball. He is a student at UT-Martin. Callan is also a GCA graduate, attends Western Kentucky University.
